Avery earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Indianapolis, where she also became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Prior to graduate school, Avery attended Trine University, where she competed as a member of the Acrobatics & Tumbling team after growing up as a Level 10 gymnast.
Avery's background in gymnastics and athletics has shaped her passion for working with artistic athletes. She has experience treating performers and athletes from a variety of disciplines, including serving as a physical therapist for the Knoxville Ice Bears and Appalachian Ballet, as well as working with numerous gymnastics programs throughout the Knoxville area.
She is certified in Dry Needling and is an ICE-trained clinician, allowing her to provide evidence-based, individualized care. Whether working with elite athletes, active adults, or individuals looking to move without pain, Avery believes in treating the whole person—not just the injury. Her goal is to empower every patient with the tools and confidence to perform at their best, and continue doing what they love.
Outside the clinic, Avery enjoys staying active in the gym, discovering new restaurants, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband, family, and friends.
Abbey earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from South College after completing her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Biology at Indiana Wesleyan University. A former competitive swimmer and volleyball player, she has a lifelong passion for movement and performance that continues through weightlifting, running, and golf.
Abbey has experience treating athletes across all levels of competition, including PGA Tour professionals, NFL athletes, the Knoxville Ice Bears, as well as collegiate and high school athletes throughout the Knoxville area. She also enjoys helping active adults and individuals beginning their fitness journey achieve their goals and return to the activities they love.
Committed to delivering the highest standard of care, Abbey has completed advanced training through the Titleist Performance Institute and is a Golf Performance Certified Specialist. She is also certified in Dry Needling, Myofascial Decompression, and is an ICE-trained clinician. Her treatment approach is rooted in current research and evidence-based practice, combining individualized assessment with hands-on care that encompasses the individuals needs as a whole. Above all, Abbey is passionate about building meaningful, lasting relationships with her patients.
Outside the clinic, Abbey enjoys strength training, reading with a good cup of coffee, spending time outdoors, and making memories with her husband and their pets.
